River West

Bend's classic westside neighborhood — tree-lined streets between the Deschutes and the Galveston Avenue restaurants, a bridge away from downtown.

Ask longtime locals where "westside Bend" began and they'll point here. River West is the neighborhood that made the west side the west side: established streets between the Deschutes River and the newer developments to the west, with the Galveston Avenue corridor — breweries, bakeries, and some of Bend's best-loved restaurants — running through the middle of it.

What sets River West apart

Walkability with history. From most of the neighborhood you can walk to Galveston for dinner, cross the footbridge to Drake Park and downtown, or drop onto the river trail. The housing stock tells Bend's whole story — original cottages and mid-century homes, many beautifully remodeled, next to newer infill and full custom rebuilds on established lots.

Who River West fits

Buyers who rank walkability first — to coffee, to the river, to downtown — and want a neighborhood with roots rather than a master plan. It suits remodelers who see potential in good bones, and buyers of finished rebuilds who want new construction quality on an old-Bend street.

How we help here

Value in River West swings house by house — a remodeled cottage and a dated original can sit side by side. Tara's builder's eye is built for exactly this: separating true quality remodels from cosmetic ones, and spotting the lots where a rebuild pencils out.
